Buchanan's Brewery is the brain child of Rod Buchanan, based in Tulbagh in the Western Cape of South Africa. Rod approached me to create a new logo and labels for his range of craft beers and ciders after being referred by his good friend, the Marketing Manager at Darling Cellars, whom I've worked with for many years.
With Rod's Scottish heritage in mind, we incorporated his family crest and tartan into the logo design. Initially, I created a range of cider label designs, but soon after, the beer range became the priority. Along with the labels, I also designed a business card and poster. The beer range comprises of six unique characters, each with its own story, thoughtfully crafted and scripted by Rod himself. We hope to revisit the cider range in the near future.
